Evonik Industries AG

Essen-based Evonik Industries AG is a listed German company that emerged in 2006 from the so-called “white sector” (chemicals, energy and real estate) of RAG Aktiengesellschaft (formerly Ruhrkohle AG). After divestments of parts of the company, Evonik Industries concentrates on the areas of specialty chemicals and high-performance materials, which mainly originate from Degussa. Evonik is currently active in over 100 countries and generated sales of around 18.5 billion euros in the financial year. With more than 34,000 employees, Evonik is Germany’s third-largest chemical company and one of the world’s leading specialty chemicals companies. The largest Evonik site is the Marl Chemical Park.
